It’s been a VERY exicitng few months for me as I stepped back a little from client work to set up my own not-for-profit project.

All Dressed Up gifts donated new and preloved prom dresses to teenagers in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire who might struggle to afford one. I pulled in lots of favours from friends who designed our fabulous logo and website and helped me to spread the word far and wide across social media to encourage dress donations. We received a staggering 370 dresses in just a few months and one-third of them were brand new with tags still on. Lipsy London deserve a special mention here for donating nearly 40 dresses from stock but the response from the public far exceeded my expectations.

To ensure that the dresses would reach those in most financial need there was alot of legwork needed to contact and engage Heads of Year 11 in secondary schools in both counties. They were asked to identify and then invite students that would most benefit (e.g. receiving pupil premium) to come along to a private pop up dress boutique.

Without the amazing support of The Mall Luton, we’d never have made this happen. Our pop up shop took place there on 11 May; girls were able to come and choose a dress for free and get tips on their prom hair and make up. It was fantastic seeing the huge smiles on their faces as they left with a beautiful dress to wear for their prom.

The left over dresses are now in storage…we’ll be back for prom season 2020!
